Your guide to the green world.

Cannabis is a deep, varied plant with a long history. Here's a short primer to help you shop with confidence — and a reminder that our team is always available in-store for the full conversation.

CBD or THC?

THC is the cannabinoid that produces the classic cannabis "high" — euphoria, altered perception, increased appetite, deeper sleep. CBD is non-intoxicating; people use it for calm, recovery, and focus. Many products blend the two in deliberate ratios (1:1, 2:1, 10:1) so you can dial in exactly the effect you want.

Indica · Sativa · Hybrid

Indica strains are generally body-relaxing — good for evenings and sleep. Sativa strains are typically uplifting and cerebral — better for the morning, creative work, or going out. Hybrids sit in between, and many of the most popular modern strains lean one way or the other.

Edibles: start low, go slow.

Edibles take 30–90 minutes to kick in, and the effects last much longer than smoking or vaping. Start with 2.5–5 mg of THC and wait at least two hours before taking more. Health Canada caps single packages at 10 mg for a reason — respect it.

A short history.

Humans have used cannabis for thousands of years — for hemp fibre, seed oil, medicine, and ceremony. Archaeological sites across Asia and the Middle East show its presence in daily life long before modern records. Today, Canada is one of the first G7 nations to legalize and regulate it for adult use.
